As of December 18, the long-term closure of Belfast Road between Trainyards Drive and Coventry Road will end. The road will once again be completely reinstated, with new traffic control measures. This also comes on the heels of the re-opening last week of Tremblay Road.

A widened multi-use pathway at Belfast and Tremblay has also been completed. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to enjoy better connectivity with the pathway system that is running along Belfast Road.

Construction of the Belfast Yard Maintenance and Storage Facility connector track, which began in the summer of 2014, will provide Light Rail Transit (LRT) vehicles access to and from the Confederation Line. It runs parallel to Belfast Road, south of Tremblay Road, and crosses under the existing VIA Rail line.

Final works are ongoing at the Belfast Yard site until spring 2016, and some short-term lane closures may be required during this time. Once complete, this 16-hectare site will feature a state-of-the-art facility that will house the assembly, maintenance and operations of 34 new LRT vehicles. Vehicles will be stored, cleaned, inspected and maintained at the facility.
