Light-rail construction closes the Transitway from Hurdman to Lees station
Starting Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, the Transitway is closing between Lees and Hurdman stations to allow construction needed to convert the Transitway into the future O-Train Confederation Line service. Both Lees and Hurdman Stations remain open but your travel time may be impacted as routes are detoured away from the construction zone. Sidewalks and multi-use pathway access will be detoured throughout the construction as well. To keep travel times as low as possible and to enhance reliability, buses headed to/from downtown will cross the Rideau River using bus-only lanes on Highway 417 and bypass Lees station. Transit priority measures have also been put in place on Industrial Avenue and Riverside Drive.
On Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, Bayview and LeBreton stations are moving slightly south as LRT construction starts on the portion of the Transitway between Merton Street and Empress Avenue. Buses will use bus-only lanes on Scott and Albert Streets.
